Saturday, October 29 we completed the Centriphery project in Denmark with a Policy Dialogue in the floating church, Kirkeskibet 2450, in Sydhavn. With an invitation to artists, citizens, and politicians in the district of Sydhavn, SydhavnTheater hosted this inspiring performative dialogue about our common future.
Can we imagine a time after climate disasters, rising water levels, housing bubbles and mutating animal and plant life? What new relationships, circuits and ecologies will arise and what will we call a home and form of association in the ruins of the old world?
Inspired by Jungian sandplay therapy, this event opens an exchange format that, through conversations and form giving, examines the life and society of the future. A performance artist, a cli-fi writer, a stage artist and a theologian sit with their hands buried in a sandbox. Their hands shape the sand as they speculate and explore possible futures.

BACKGROUND
This event is part of Dansehallerne and Sydhavn Teater’s collaboration and participation in the EU project Centriphery (2019 – 2022). Centriphery is about artistic activities and exchanges between citizens and artists in 9 European countries with a view to investigating the relationship between center and periphery. The event is a « policy dialogue » during the project, and it frames conversations about sustainable urban development based on artistic perspectives. It has been developed based on support partners from Creative Europe, Centriphery, Danish Arts Foundation, Dansehallerne and Sydhavn Parish. The church ship 2450 is hosting the event.
