In preparation of the performance ‘Museum of Stillness‘ at Cultura Nova, Lieke, Bart, Éric, and Livia organised several workshops. The dance and drawing workshops got deaf, blind, young and elderly people, as well as inhabitants of Heerlen, involved in the theme ‘stillness’.
During the workshops, the participants gave the artists insights in their perception of silence and stillness. The drawing workshops provided input for the mural by Livia Coloji during the ‘Museum of Stillness’. In addition, the dance workshops led blind dancers to participate in the performance.

STILL.the workshops were produced by Hoge Fronten/Lieke Benders together with Bart Bijnens, Eric Minh Cuong Castaing and Livia Coloji. The workshops have been created in collaboration with the international co-producers Cultura Nova and Centriphery. The workshops are also sponsored by Fonds Podiumkunsten, Province of Limburg, Municipality of Maastricht, Klooster Wittem and Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Limburg.

Since 2017, theatre maker Lieke Benders has been investigating stillness in all of its forms. From STILL.silence lab in Klooster Wittem (monastery), she and her Hoge Fronten team investigate the importance of stillness and reflection in an increasingly turbulent society. The findings are shown and performed in various places.
